Sora Kim¡¯s Solo Exhibition Abstract Walking at Artsonje Center highlights her conceptual yet ambiguous artistic practice. For the exhibition Abstract Walking, the artist has collected various stories of journeys and creates an abstract artwork which consists of sound and light, by collaborating with different artists. Even if the artwork has no visual representation, it presents an abstract spatial and temporal territory which has immanent stories in it. The exhibition invites the viewer to experience art in a new way and seeks various ways of communication.

Artsonje Open Call #1:¡¶Lee Sung Woong, the North Korean Punk Rocker¡·

In 2011, Artsonje Center launched the annual initiative ¡®Open Call¡¯. ¡®Open Call¡¯ provides a platform for experimental and challenging curatorial projects and encourages diverse curatorial practices. For the selected project, Artsonje Center offers a space to realize the project and curatorial fee as well as reward.
The first selected proposal, Lee Sung Woong, the North Korean Punk Rocker, curated by the AWDWs, represents a fictional figure Lee Sung Woong through performances and installations by South Korean rock bands. The exhibition attempts to seek the meaning and symbol of Korean punk, appeared as subculture in the 1990s, while tracing the relation between fiction and reality.

Yong Soon Min will present a discussion of her work that engages interstices of the collective and the personal subjectivities that questions our critical positions. She has a diverse arts practice that is mostly mixed media installations and also includes curating and teaching.

As a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami which occurred on 11th March 2011, many issues which the human race faces rose to the fore.
¡°Making As Living¡± Throughout Japan a great range of efforts towards regeneration are being made, but such efforts are only in their early stages. ¡°WA WA Project¡± aims to create a platform where support and information may be shared and through which individuals throughout Japan may be connected to form a sustainable community working towards the next 5, 10 or 20 years
